How To Become A Fat-Burning Machine
Weight loss is so much easier when your metabolism is really kickin'! And, weight loss is s-o-o-o difficult when your metabolism is draggin'!

Unfortunately, the basal metabolic rate (metabolism) of most adults is far slower than it should be to maintain a normal body weight. When your metabolism is slow, it affects you in several ways:

You fatigue easily and often feel sluggish. You rarely feel truly energetic. You gain fat easily. You find it very difficult to lose fat. You are more prone to depression. Your mental acuity is diminished.

But, there is good news -- you CAN reverse your misfortune. It may take a while but you CAN do it! You CAN turn your body into an energized, 24-hour fat-burning machine!

Here's what you have to do to participate and start whipping your metabolism into shape:

1.Do some type of aerobic exercise six to seven days per week throughout Metabolism Month. This can be walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, aerobics, dance, etc. If you have not been exercising, start with just a few minutes per day and gradually increase your time. If you have been exercising, set a goal of doing 30 to 60 minutes per session. Never increase your exercise time in large increments. You should always progress slowly.

2.Incorporate "intervals" into your aerobic exercise. Intervals are great for your metabolism and they help time to pass faster while you're exercising. Those slow periods always seem so short. To re-read my archived article on intervals, click here.

3.Weight train three days per week. Toned muscles send your metabolism through the roof! Don't miss out on this.

4.Create activity in your lifestyle. Just think about how often during the day you have the choice of doing it the easy way or the way that requires some exertion on your part. For example, do you park as close to the front door as you can at Wal-Mart or do you park way out in the parking lot? Do you ride or push to mow your lawn? Raking leaves is great exercise. What a feeling of accomplishment to kill two birds with one stone -- exercise AND get some chores done. Make your day an active one.
